Gardening for Gold

Dodge County Master Gardener Association will host four dynamic speakers in a day-long event at the Horicon Marsh Educational Center on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Registration will be required by October 14th. Seating is limited.

During the annual Gardening for Gold Fall Symposium, local and regional speakers will be present to share their knowledge to gardeners of all levels of experience and skill. This year David Buss, Davali Ridge Wisconsin Hops, will lead a discussion on how to add diversity to any landscape by adding climbing hops. Jay Dampier, Extension Horticulture Program Manager will bring his expertise on six different Wisconsin native nut trees.  Peggy Daman, Extension Horticultural Specialist, will describe and demonstrate kokodamas, Japanese moss balls and to round out the day, Bill Tracy, UW Department of Agronomy, will lend his years of experience by sharing how to grow, harvest, and enjoy popcorn in the smaller space of a home garden. Lunch will be included in the events of the day as well as a Silent Auction featuring many items of interests to gardeners and non-gardeners alike.
